  • Xavier and Prairie Key Club interclub to be announced in the future.
  • Website Invoice of $239.40 has been paid from last month to Chris Newitt.
  • Committee Structure: There was some discussion of the Volunteer/Service Committee.  Each activity will be presented to the members to determine general interest.  One person to volunteer as a coordinator for the event or the activity will be dropped.   One day projects seem to give us the best response.  A variety of projects promotes participation.

  • Vision for Less is up in the air.  Invoices must be paid when glasses ordered.  They won’t invoice our club.  We may be able to put money on deposit with Dr. Peterson.
  • CR Network, Pam Landon reports contact information is needed
  • Families Helping Families Shoe Program: Several vouchers will be outdated in January.  Not quite 85% are being used.  There was some question about what type of shoes are acceptable.  One social worker said only tennis shoes are acceptable.  Pam will check with Keith Sutherland.
  • David Graeff will set up an Interclub to play golf with the Williamsburg Kiwanis Club.
  • The Circle K Club at Mt Mercy is not active at this time.  The school has a variety of volunteer projects for student to participate, and they don’t have to pay membership dues to do so.
  • Katie Hiatt-Braasch reported the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center blood drive is moving forward with Elmcrest to co-host.
  • The club received a letter, looking for “Who is My Neighbor” nominations.  The nominee should be someone with a “lifelong faith commitment to living in harmony with others and to promoting equality and social justice in the community”.
  • The Kirkwood Scholarship Foundation sent a thank you note for the $500 donated.
  • Gerry Kneeland presented a thank you notes from the Xavier High School scholarship recipients.
  • Don Grimm will make a record of Koleene Herlocker’s election to the Board.
  • David Graeff recalled a special program meeting that we had for many years where we invite the school nurses and  they tell us about some of their challenging cases. We would recognize them for their contributions and thank them for their efforts.
