The meeting was called to order by President Bob Hatala, Esq.  27 Members in attendance.

Announcements:  John Locher is coordinating help for Families Helping Families prepare 600 backpacks for kids at Family Church on Friday 7/31; John Anderson was certified as a delegate to the Kiwanis NE-IA convention   

Happy Bucks:  Doug Dix was looking forward to football’s return; Steve Walrath and John Schweitzer celebrate the return of the Pineapple Gala fundraiser; Jim Doyne looks forward to vacation; Ron Sunderman had a lame joke (!); Christian Djerf’s kids are going back to school; John Locher was appreciative of free ad minutes from Jim Doyne; Fran Brown had a visit from an owl, Don Grimm had a Pileated Woodpecker and, not to be undone, John Schweitzer saw three sparrows.  

Upcoming Programs:   

Speaker:  Paul Morf had a very informative talk on estate planning with emphasis on pitfalls and traps.   The message here was to get with an expert lawyer – everyone, not just the filthy rich – early and often.  Paul distributed a fifty page outline of considerations, which will not be summarized here.  Fifty pages was already condensed.  Get with your lawyer, is the good advice.
