Upcoming Programs:

Speaker:  Chuck Wehage introduced Amy Gruenwald, the Exec. Director of the Jane Boyd House, a position she assumed in March.  Amy gave an overview of tutoring program for children, ages 8-11.  She indicated that 1/3 of the children they serve are not proficient in reading comprehension.  There is a great need for tutors/mentors for their afterschool program.  Tutoring is needed in math and reading.  Jane Boyd operates  Harambi House and the Jane Boyd Community House.  Harambi teaches self-sufficiency skills while they provide children’s programming, after school programs and summer day camp.

Word for the day: Don Grimm, the Wordmaster, offered “preternatural”: That is out of the ordinary course of nature; beyond, surpassing, or differing from what is natural.  We were able to guess correctly forcing Don to unload a dollar.  Every once in awhile Don senses the Club needs a pick me upper and throws us a bone.
