Guests: Richard Best, brother in law of Bob Dye Birthdays: Mary Corkery, Joe Blank Anniversaries: None Announcements: - Barbara Hoffman asks for volunteers for America Reads, a half hour commitment on October 22 and/or 23; - John Locher has a similar opportunity at Taylor for kindergarten and first grade (sign up sheet went around); - Jeff Hollingsworth plans to organize interclub activities to coincide with Janet Blackledge’s Lt. Gov. duties, with early opportunities at Vinton, Williamsburg (both Oct. 6), and Marion Metro on Oct . 7, this one with wine and cheese; - minutes of our club covering a ten year period ending in 1971, very well organized were a gift from an estate, and presented to the club; - Marion Metro has a pancake breakfast on Saturday at the United Methodist Church starting at 7; - on October 9, a reception will be held for the Scattergood student from Uganda sponsored by HiCREW club (contact Byron Tabor for more info); - Habitat asks for help on Saturday, Oct. 3 (contact Ron Sunderman for more info – he’s in the book). Happy Bucks: Chuck Wehage got his windows changed out; Ron Sunderman is a new, proud grandparent of twins; Don Grimm had a great time at his 50th college reunion in Fargo; Byron Tabor happily passed on Lt. Gov. duties to Janet Blackledge; Bob Dye celebrated 50 years of working with kids at a ceremony in Rochester NY; Doug Dix had a buck in honor of Bob’s service; Dan Breitbach saw the Colts play, and Coe alum “Fred” played well. Upcoming Programs: Carol Luth from Vision in Motion Speaker: This was the day for officer installations, presided over by newly minted (again) Lt. Gov. Janet Blackledge. Installed were: Dan Breitbach, president; Bob Hatala, past president; Pam Landon, Keith Sutherland, David Graeff and Joe Schmall – all new members of the Board of Directors; Secretary, Sr. Charmaine; Treasurer, Gerry Kneeland; Mike Poggenklass, president-elect/first VP; Pam Landon, second VP. Keith Sutherland, Kelly Allen and John Schweitzer were recognized for their fine service as they retire from their terms on the Board of Directors.
