Program Overview: Susan Kuecker of the African American Historical Museum gave us an update on news one important one being the addition of an Iowa Communications Network terminal. This allows programs to be broadcast to schools statewide so that transportation costs will be reduced while spreading the message farther and wider. One story to be told is the importance of the southern tier of Iowa counties to the Underground Railroad, especially in Lee county and the city of Keokuk. Homes with secret rooms have been discovered in Keokuk; their owners are referred to as "conductors" on the Underground Railroad. Scribe: Chuck Wehage Next Scribe: John Anderson | |||||||
