Let Dan know if you are coming so adequate pizza will be ordered.  Dan also is working on a date for the next Farmer’s Breakfast.  He’s looking at March 10, 2007.  Paul Anderson is working on a possible tour of the CR Post Office, a follow up to the Postmaster’s talk to the club.

Special Award:  Dan Breitbach accepted the Silver Spatula (and Fork) award for Pancake Henry in recognition for all the work in running another successful breakfast event.

Happy Bucks: - Joe Nolte had a great time with the family at Disneyland; Ray Vaughn had sage words about his 48 years with the club; Don Grimm had one, but the scribe spaced it off; Janet Blackledge was very happy that the Governor’s conference was over; Richard Boardman, in a fit of paternal empathy, was happy to see Dan B speechless.  Dan B threw in a buck, since there was no way to leave Boardman’s comment go unanswered.

Next week’s program:  -

Speaker: - Dr. Ron Fielder, Director of the Grant Wood Area Education Agency, described the role of the organization as a resource for all schools in the Area 10.  An important aspect of their mission is helping schools cope with the requirements of “No Child Left Behind”. The regional agency’s most popular services are supplying educational materials and specialists throughout the seven county service area.  The concept is one example of successful merging of agencies to achieve better efficiency.  70% of GWAEA’s services are in the delivery of support for Special Education.  GWAEA has a staff of 500, including 50 Speech Clinicians. There stiffest challenges is ever stingier governments which leads to rationing services.

Word for the day: - Zymurgy – the art or practice of fermentation, as in winemaking, brewing, distilling, etc.

Submitted - C. Wehage

Next Week's Scribe - John Locher

Week After - Kelly Allen
